Who Knew?

Yesterday New Zealand celebrated/marked Armistice Day. The same day is celebrated in Poland as Independance Day, the day that Poland became an independant nation again after one hundred and twenty three years. Not that it lasted that long, twenty years later Poland was again invaded. Yet during that time, she managed to stem the tide of communism from taking over Europe in 1921. I really should have known that Nov 11 was Polish Independance Day.

I just love how one of the reviewers is absolutely stunned that anyone could fight a war against the Soviet Union and win. I suppose for many of us brought up during the days of the cold war stand off with the Soviet Union, this would seem amazing. But then, you'd be surprised what you can do with gumption and determination.
