TVNZ debates more like a low-brow talkradio session

What a waste of time. I got so bored with the shallow soundbites and incessant over-talking by Clark that I turned over to the new series of 24.

And what is with these loons and their obsession with "peak oil"?

I fear we've let the crazies run the house for so long the other inhabitants think there's no better choice.

UPDATE: Another farce from TVZ. Was that the impact of the charter? Ha.

UPDATE: The centre-right needs a TV broadcast network. Maybe the SH crew could start one?

And part of TVNZ must be donated to the people of New Zealand to do with as they wish (shares I mean), and the other part sold to the highest bidder. With the revenue we need to set up a free-to-air Parliament network and online searchable archive which documents every stupid thing these lefties get away with because of our lazy biased media.

If we started our own broadcast network, AL, some of us would actually have to be, you know, visually identified. Bye bye anonymity.

Try puppets as on-air talent, after all most of the MSM use muppets.

No ego problems; lower talent and wardrobe costs.

Very good anonymous, I was just about to post a similar, though possibly more delicately phrased, comment.

I like the archive facility. That could be "You actually said it, Minister"

I could do a weekly skit show - ala a few of the great Aussie shows: Glass House; John Clark (remember him?) and Brian Dawes did a hilarious round-up interview on Friday nights on ABC, maybe a political comedy company....

I bet a team of us could do it for Judy Baileys salary. (First Season special - renegotiable)

We've got all the people for a Fox equivalent easily!

AL: Rupert Murdoch
Adolf: Bill O'Reilly
Lucyna: Babe Newsreader
Chefen: Scandanavian Correspondent
Zen, Bernard, Gooner: Fox & Friends Morning Hosts
Me: Frothing Ann Coulter-style regular guest.

We'd be mad not to do it! Mad!

Socialist Susan Wood's repetition of the smear that Brash had lied over the Brethren pamphlets was the most disgusting and unprofessional display of partisan broadcasting I have seen in my time in New Zealand. My opinion is that such a jaundiced journalist as Wood is only capable of finding work in some clapped out state owned commie outfit like TV One, and outside that artifical cloistered cronyist environment, she would sink like a stone. (as her cronyist one time boss did) She is NZ's Dan Rather, and her attack on Brash tonight with false accusations of lying was comparable to Rather's attempt to smear Bush with forged documents. Absolutely disgusting..!!

Ha ha! If I was so stupid as to describe Susan Wood as a socialist in public, I'd want to be as anonymous as bloody possible too, you bet!

Actually, I meant to use my customary net name but didn't notice the anonymous button. As for your assertions regarding Wood's non socialist state, well hell, you're welcome to your opinion, but I call anyone who has made a living out of advocating for socialism while pretending to be objective, and who has forged a career by networking with fellow socialists at socialist state television, and who follows up on every socialist Labour party talking point with sickeningly unprofessional enthusiasm, a damn socialist... Your turn now. Why isn't she?

Yes I saw that. I just wish Brash was a bit quicker on his feet. The plain truth is a group of people told him they were going to attack the LABOUR GOVERNMENT by way of leaflets. When ananonymous leaflet attacking the Greens (who ae not the government last time I looked) eventuated, Dr brash quite rightly denied knowing who it was until the people fronted up.. If the leaflets had attacked Labour it would have been OK to have a go at him. No one seems to have picked up this subtle but important point.

There is nothing subtle about Doone and Clark's flagrant dishonesty. Send the links to David Kirk. The Ockers love a story in which they can throw shit at their favorite Kiwi PM, the one they kidnapped at Sydney airport.

No - all we need is to apply the policy from the National/ACT govt has promised.

We sell RadioSocialism & TVNZ via a vickrey auction to the highest bidder as going concerns. That will fix the rest.

TVone goes to Fox; TVtwo goes to fairfax.
RadioNZ goes to Fox.

that's all, folks.

How about a centre-right podcast-enabled talkshow?

"Tom Paine" at Silent Running does that, but he's more international focussed. I don't think he lives in NZ at the moment.

I think we need to start naming these people, and compiling a list and incidents of bias in the media.

Susan Wood, Audrey Young and Fran Mold for starters I think have all demonstrated partisan views this week in my opinon. Fran Mold's reports (TVNZ) this week have been edited without concern for balance or fairness, partisan editorialisation, and things like seeking out a vandalised National billboard to stand in front of are subtle messages.

We need to monitor our media like the Media Research Center and some should prepare a list of reporters/presenters where we can disclose their political leanings, in a similar way to how Insolent Prick has done here with Labour candidates.

I suggest a bias-o-meter like this.
