Swedish army to protect Sweden?

The Swedish government is considering allowing the armed forces to be utilised within Sweden in the event of terrorism or the like. Currently they are not allowed to assist police or perform any crime-fighting. This is due to an incident in 1931(!) where the army helped dispersed a protest and killed 5 people. You'd think it'd be time for a change, considering modern terrorism is often pretty much as close as you can get to an act of war without nations being involved. It does seem bizarre that an incident of 74 years ago restricts actions in this way.

In a related note, the Social Democrat's big man in Gothenburg is majorly pissed with the bosses in Stockholm after recent military downsizing. Gothenburg is the most important port in Sweden with a very high traffic load. Previously Sweden's specialised amphibious task force was based near this rather important location. Now it isn't, it was disbanded. Genius. Still, this chap Johansson is actually a pretty good politician for a Social Democrat.
