Defense Roars Back Into The Frame

One News lead tonight with the stunned mullet PM and green round the gills Mallard discovering from a journalist that the Skyhawks and Macchis have been sold. What is so funny is that if they had known there is no way this would have leaked out until after the 17th. The look on their faces was a sight to behold.

Police resourcing came back as it appears the police have recruited a Bali Bombing suspect for constabulary training. Thanks again, Doonegate. Compliant executives usually are not paricularly competent.

She sure likes bawling needlessly at people....

Hope she carries on with it for another week.

They sold the Macchis a week before an election which might put the pro-Defense opposition in power?

That makes it ultra expensive to rebuild the combat component of the Air Force.

Another Labour Special.

Just look at how Helen has a little "chat" with Guyon Espiner because she doesn't like the questions.

Fuck i've already voted in OZ.
If this true my uncle (ex SNCO 14sqn and still in the RNZAF) will be pissed off big time. He was only saying last week while we were out for tea, that if the next goverment holds on to the macchis we can be at MLOC within 3-5yrs if they want to reformed 14sqn which will give the goverment time on what jet to buy. Just as well he is over here in oz then i think that job he is looking at down at Nowra or at Williamtown (Fighter Town) might be on now.

NZ still has a good well equiped strike force full of experienced pilots.

Of course the RAF owns it... but still!

National should have had a press release out within half an hour. Where is the strategy team and the Defense spokesman? Having a prayer meeting?

As I recall Mark Burton protested against the purchase of the Skyhawks when we first got them.

Now he is minister of Defence - he should be renamed as Minister of Defenselessness

Very true exkiwiforces, those damned kiwis will get in everywhere.

The US forces are full of strange accents too. Eventually they'll be speaking English and saluting palm up like proper soldiers :o)

The TV One News SkyHawks sale revelation story was so funny.

Clark turns her back to the camera to talk directly to TV One reporter Guyon Espiner, while he says in his voiceover, "after a few stern words the Prime Minister came back with this one hour later ..." [cuts to a statement on camera later when she found out the details]. Stern words to who? Mind boggles.

Did Guyon get told off for asking a question the PM didn't know the answer to? After all she funds TVNZ (funny, I thought it was the taxpayers) and wouldn't like being spoken to like that now would she?!

I wonder how many apologies will be forthcoming from TVNZ? Or perhaps there might be 'makegoods' in other ways?

Given that Don Brash is expected to know who produces third-party anti-Labour anti-Green leaflets without seeing or reading them, is it too much to ask for the PM to know that her government has sold RNZAF aircraft she ok'd for sale.

My uncle was as all telling us that when 5sqn picked up aunty helen at Melboune during the Ansett crisis. The boys at that back of the Orion explain to Helen what they do on the way back to NZ. That only they have found Subs but also they were inside the 200 mile EZZ and just outside the 12 mile limit these subs are not meant to be found as were ICBM's and Attack Subs from western nations, and other nations was she was very shock that were inside NZ waters. It appears She and Mark have no idea what the defence force do peacetime/ and on wartime duties unlike the last MOD Max .....

Still, even if she did know, what would she do? Get very very angry and write them a letter telling them how very angry she is? I can just imagine the response... "Oh no! Heren Crark!" OK, too much Team America lately.

Al,my uncle didn't say too much on who they were but did say there was a yank nuke very close to the 12 mile limit. All subs that were found were ping, track for sometime and they were recorder for future reference.
