Labour's Body Count

Driving between appointmenTs yesterday afternoon I flicked the radio onto Parliament at a little after 4.00 and heard some unidentified drone from Labour 'debating' something or other. He was assailing National about the Iraq war. [I have never heard a worse or more ineffectual debating style, The voice whas nasal, whining, unmodulated and unpleasant. The grasp of vocabulary was extremely limited and the only means of emphasis was the unintellible shout. I digress. ]

The idiot was trying to make the point that if National had been in power, New Zealand would have sent troops to Iraq. He kept asking how many soldiers by now would be dead. He went on and on and on. 'Come on, National, how many bodies would there be? Why don't you tell us how many New Zealanders you would have killed?' And so on and so forth.

Unfortunately I did not hear the next speaker but I'll give 'the voice' his answer, right here.

"NOWHERE NEAR AS MANY AS YOU AND LABOUR HAVE ALREADY KILLED THIS YEAR ON YOUR HOSPITAL WAITING LISTS"

That's quite pathetic.

It seems to be an extrapolation of the argument that if we cut government spending in any given area, people will bleed to death in Accident and Emergency.

The only thing healthy in the public health system is skepticism. I read some such nonsense about effectively putting people on a waiting list to be on THE waiting list. It keeps the numbers on THE list down.

Heard that too, wasn't it Matt Robinson? Not sure, but he actually said "How many Kiwi's would Don Brash have killed."

I agree
Labour has to be very careful when it comes to people talking about body countsā€¦
H1/Hawkins total running up pretty fast (Irena Asher et al.)
The list of real bodies, not hypothetical is there in health, immigration, police, justiceā€¦.
