Nostrils Twitch as Sphincters Quiver

The Gnats sit patiently waiting for the right moment to send in the ground forces of policy announcement and heavy duty electioneering while the Socialist occupiers see their air defences and coastal batteries steadily degraded by tomahawk missiles and long range artillery salvoes, exposing scandal, scam, lies, disloyalty, mendacity, fraud, unabashed expediency and plain outright corruption. All of this overshadowed by the giant Somme style landmine which was Tamihere.

Corruption, you ask? Here in New Zealand? Surely not! Naaaahhh, it can’t be. Well, think again because yes, it is indeed corruption - defined as the practice of being willing to act dishonestly in return for money or personal gain. For personal gain, read power.

Passing taxpayer funds to the union movement by way of education grants in return for generous contributions to Party funds has been well documented elsewhere but, at a pinch, this might be shrugged off merely as institutional theft because that’s what one would expect from a crooked party and its lapdog trade union partner in crime. Looking the other way as half a billion dollars of education money goes into the pockets of one family business in return for support of sensitive legislation might even be treated the same way. Likewise, the blatant theft of $45,000 for Labour Party calendars – that could have paid for nine extra angiogrammes. Not to mention the almost as blatant misappropriation of $15 mil for party propaganda, thinly disguised as the oleaginous ‘Working for Families’ campaign. (How smarmy can they get?)

However, it is the colour of a different horse when they mess with our country’s reputation abroad, a reputation built carefully by successive administrations over the past century and a half. A reputation for honest dealing, even if at times by the self deluded. That has all gone. Our most valuable asset has been thrown away – sold off for a pittance. A lousy $34 mil added to the surplus! The fools didn’t even get a decent price.

By allowing Transpower and other SOE’s to conspire with undisclosed American corporations to defraud their own country’s Inland Revenue Service, Labour tarred all New Zealanders with its own despicable, smelly brand of unethical double dealing. In a flash, Labour made me ashamed to tell my friends in America, Australia, UK and elsewhere that I am a New Zealander. The Labour wreckers have irretrievably dishonored and despoiled the reputation of once proud Kiwis - we are reduced to the status of Nigeria - just another nation of bloody scammers.

These unholy, dismal and motley gangsters have transformed once decent New Zealanders into a nation of dirty, dishonest, sly cheats and liars. That is Labour’s legacy. The stench level just rose about three notches.

It was a similarly rancid affair which sunk Whitlam and his shoddy shonky band, twenty years ago, in1975. Those readers who are intelligent (that excludes lefties and their journalistic apologists) should do some research on the “Iraqi Loans Affair.” The parallels are remarkable. A tawdry government, comprising a collection of largely useless and untalented misfits, held together by the ability and strength of it’s leader and deputy and propped up by a venal trade union movement; a bizarre secret agenda for complete control of all facets of the nation’s life; a crazy scheme to “sell the nation’s soul” to foreign interests in return for financial gain. And somebody spilled the beans.

Sound familiar? You bet your life it is. Methinks the Smarmy Army will need many old copies of the Weekly News, especially with yesterday’s Marae Digipoll confirming Labour’s looming loss of all Maori seats. Ninth floor sphincters will be all a quiver.

My election slogan will be: - Give us back our self-respect. Vote National.

UPDATE by AL @ 2:01PM: Whitlam (Australian PM) dismissal outlined here.

Give us back our State Owned Enterprises. The State doesn't deserve them.

Where can I buy a T-Shirt saying "I'm a kiwi but I didn't vote Labour."?

I agree with the sentiment but wonder how a line can practically be drawn when finance is essentially amoral?

If the job of an SOE is to maximise value for the taxpayer then why shouldn't creative arrangements be approved by the minister if they're not illegal? If the IRD wants to section 99 it, it still can. (It probably won't, but it could when they file their return.)

It was unwise of Cullen to approve it, no doubt about that. Wonder why he did it? There's a story.

However, fully agree with initial comments: the political relationships, appointments to govt bodies and NGOs, and direct and indirect government financing of trade unions over the last 6 years, is a major mystery.

Where are the NZ media? Probably having bar-b-ques with the PM as she assiduously cultivates them for the upcoming election.

[Note: Section 99 of the IT Act allows a commercial arrangement to be struck down if its sole purpose was to minimise tax.]

Reid, in this case I don't think it is any business of our IRD. It is the US IRS which has been diddled.
