The Mystery Of Fascism

A fascinating article about the evolution and split up of Marxists into Socialists, Bolsheviks (later renamed Communists), Fascists. It's mostly about Fascism, but is also worth reading for a historical understanding of leftism in general.

From The Mystery Of Fascism
In the panoramic sweep of history, Fascism, like Communism, like all forms of socialism, and like today's greenism and anti-globalism, is the logical result of specific intellectual errors about human progress. Fascism was an attempt to pluck the material fruits of liberal economics while abolishing liberal culture. The attempt was entirely quixotic: there is no such thing as economic development without free-market capitalism and there is no such thing as free-market capitalism without the recognition of individual rights.
Why am I interested in all of this, you may ask.... well, I believe in know your enemy. That way you can understand what they are doing, predict what they are going to do next, and therefore be able to recognise and exploit weaknesses.

How the hell is facism on the right of the political spectrum? I never understood that. Do facists love private enterprise or something?

In the same way Hitler was actually a socialist (Nazi = National Socialists), but the socialists want you to think otherwise.

A quote from Hitler himself:
"We are socialists, we are enemies of today's capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions"

Speaking of Hitler; his birthday passed un-remarked yesterday. He was born in 1889.

It all boils down to control of the individual Those of us who want freedom of thought speech and individual responsibility are now in the minority because politicans (forget what they call themselves) want fiscal control thru taxation that they can then redistribute to those who support them Almost all politicans and beauracrats hate those who are finanically independent with a vengance. It is very difficult to excerise control over them.Hence the welfare trap to ensure the maximum numbers are reliant on the government for thrie very existence Vive la revolution

I've read the beginning of the article and now know why fascism is on the right. The article is very long, I'll have to read the rest of it if I have time.
