Trotter Fires Exocet Into Unions - Direct Hit

I always enjoy reading Chris Trotter in the Independent. Don't always agree with him and at times greet his utterances with the derision they deserve. What I like about Chris Trotter is that he is up front, no nonsense, what you see is what you get, a died in the wool leftie. (Unlike certain pseudo blogger journos who loudly proclaim their non-existant impartiality.)

This week Mr Trotter is right on the money. A devastating evisceration of a corrupt and immoral Labour Party and its unholy and craven accomplice the CTU with its gang of hangers on.

'............. the peak organisation of organised labour in New Zealand, to facilitate the continuing flow of state funds into its coffers, decided to register itself as a private training establishment, just like Te Wananga O Aotearoa
.'

So you see now how your tax money is handed to the unions so that the unions can hand it back to Labour for their election campaign fund. That's how Clerk's 'integrity and character' works.

Trotter has highlighted the growing disenchantment among the captive ranks of working people with the political antics of the CTU and its members, whereby the real interests of the ordianry people who pay their dues are ignored. Nothng changes, you know. I remember being told thirty five years ago by a seniour Shell Co executive in Australia that the company feared the 'politicised' unions much more than the others because they wanted to damage the business more than they wanted to look after the workers. The members of the non politicised unions always had better pay and conditions than did the members of the loudmouth politico unions.

Well, it seems there is an exodus of union membership from Labour and they are heading for the Greens. Good on the Green, I say. They might be totally mad but they have principles.

I'd much rather be represented by an eccentric honest idiot than by a dishonest lying pillar of society.
