Speech on the Throne: It's full of s***

What is our aspiring government's three-year plan? No tax cuts and more spending. Here is the list with my brief comment next to each.

* Lift productivity (how you gonna do this without company tax cuts).
* KiwiSaver Scheme (Can we save ourselves please. You know, with OUR money?).
* Review corporate taxation (review, schmeview).
* Interest-free student loans (we pay the interest without tax cuts).
* 5000 more apprentices (oh, thank goodness!).
* National energy strategy (I agree with this).
* Review Pharmac (review schmeview).
* Faster broadband uptake (wow!).
* Lift the minimum wage (misprint. Lift should be 'scrap').
* Boost Working for Families (more dependency which we pay for- again).
* School-ready health check (I thought we had free visits for under 6's?)
* Lift superannuation (more dependency which we pay for).
* 1000 more police (300 per year, pissant).
* Review home detention (review, schmeview).
* Set deadline of 2008 for historic Treaty claims (yay, finally I like something).
* Address irrigation needs (Much needed this. Aye).
* 'Buy Kiwi-made' programme (See comment re minimum wage. They have omitted the word 'scrap' at the start).
* Energy efficiency programme (What does this mean?).

God this country really is a socialist hellhole at the bottom end of nowhere. This list is a visionless pile of excrement. When it was delivered from the throne I hope a bucket was provided for the vomit that needed to be flushed down afterwards.

NZ intends to go all the way down the gurgle, just like France. Socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried. But it has kept politicians in power, that's all that counts.

Well said Gooner.
But what more can you expect from a government lead by someone who said just last week that Australia faced no terrorist threat.
I find it curious that the student loan policy has an instant $2 billion write-off cost. Then there are other costs due to lost interest on future loans and added uptake.
yes, we need a look at energy, but what will get passed the RMA, i wonder.
WFF is just middle class welfare.
And you would think that the extra police might pay for themseleves through added revenue generation! No cost there . Have the cops loitering by the roadside to earn their salaries while the burglars, muggers, rapists, murders, etc, get away with everything. Good Lord, even Granny Herald has noticed post-election, that the police have problems. Why they did not notice before the ballot, we'll we best no go there again.
Not an inspiring policy platform for a government.
No vision, nothing for the creatures of weath to enjoy a share of the prosperity of the past few years. But much for the bludgers. Giving them the right to take more out of our pockerts.
Peter Cresswell (Not PC) has commented much on Clark's vision of the "New Zealand Way." Sound reading it is too.
What's the latest post-election emmigration figures to Oz, I wonder?

I wonder what the impairment expenses associated with the student loan asset will be in the government accounts once we switch to International Financial Reporting Standards. I wonder if John Key has asked that question? Hmm...

Thanks for the advice Xavier. Regrettably for you, and your ilk, I never take advice from socialists.

Heh guys The trick is to just get on with our lives and construct our own situation to minimise the Socialists interference Take full advantage of whatever fruit loop schemes they come with.It can be done.Visit your friendly Accountant and or Lawyer and you will be surprised at the ways you can benefit.Yes it will cost but the dumb Socialists cant close all the loop holes and it our avowed duty to find and exploit each and everyone.
