French riots update

Curfew to be imposed

First fatality, riots spread to '300 towns'

Austin Bay has slightly older links, including the molotov bomb 'factory':
Police found a gasoline bomb-making factory in a southern suburb of the city, with more than 100 bottles, gallons of fuel and hoods for hiding rioters' faces, a senior Justice Ministry official said Sunday.

Six youths, all aged under 18, were arrested in the raid Saturday night on a building in Evry south of Paris where the gasoline bombs were being put together, Jean-Marie Huet, the ministry's director of criminal affairs and pardons, told The Associated Press.

The discovery, Huet said, shows that gasoline bombs being used by rioters "are not being improvised by kids in their bathrooms."

Clive Davis:
What are the root causes again of the riots? No pinko rag, the Daily Telegraph says the issue is much more complex than some bloggers and commentators would have us believe...
Clive Davis #2:
In normal circumstances, I wouldn’t bother taking the Independent’s advice, but their Paris correspondent John Lichfield has always struck me as exceptionally even-handed...

Clive Davis seems to be missing some clues. Why does the Turkish PM see the head-scarve link? Why was a fatwa issued? Isn't that for the fact that there is a link?

I'm not sure if much is clear yet - and I'm not sure if we'll ever find out in the English-speaking world. It's not like the BBC, Reuters and AP are able to report anything scathing about Islam. To them the 'facts' must be stripped of all cultural context, to the point where the facts make little sense to the reader.

I read a report of French-3 TV refusing to report the numbers of cars burned (for the peoples sake, of course). Weren't they the same outfit who refused to release video proving the supposed shooting of that Palestinian kid and his father by Israeli troops was a staged fake?

Not sure AL, but I believe it was a different TV station.

And AL, read this post, there have been warnings of widespread attacks on France in the weeks before this all started: http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/archives/005746.php

Each night we make this place like Baghdad:

Also video of "disenfranchised youth" shouting Allah Akhbar".

Boy, we're lucky all this has nothing to do with religion...

These are nots riots, this is a rebelion.

They are not disafected youth, they are insurgents.

The msm is not reporting, its talking in ideolgical gibberish.

If it was in Israel what words would they be using?

Murray, it's not a rebellion. It is a carefully orchestrated terrorist attack. We were told it would happen about a month ago. Remember? Saqawi or whoever sent a letter telling the brave fighters in Iraq to back off and go back to their homelands to open a new front? Well I wonder how many of the so called 'insurgents' in Iraq were born in France and shuttled in through Syria? The truth is beginning to out. Maybe the left are just a bit too shattered by the late realisation that Bush was right all along.

Again we're just rearanging the Titanics deck chairs.

Hard to care what labels we use, the only real issue is dealing with them.

What model do you want to use, the Euroweenie one thats worked SO well or the Israeli/US method of smacking them down. Hacen't seen much trouble in the US since they went from Sept 11 to Afghanistan and Iraq.
