Fisk doesn't use the net

Idiot will be disappointed.

QUESTIONER: Gary Rosen from Commentary magazine. Mr. Fisk, you’ve achieved a degree of immortality in the blogosphere, where these online commentators [use] the verb “to fisk” [meaning] to take a piece of journalism and to respond to it point-by-point for its ideological biases and factual unreliability. I’m wondering, do you — do you take pride in this coinage? Does it fill you with indignation? What are your thoughts on it? Is it justified?

FISK: I don’t waste my time with blogs, I don’t use the Internet, and I don’t use e-mail. I work.

So he's stuck with the echo chamber of his own mind? That doesn't sound pleasant.

No doubt his pidgeon shit reports are hand written and submitted by way of their feathered originators.

Fisk's reports are hand written and despatched in an envelope with three white feathers.

Of course if you read the transcript of the debate you will see that exactly the oposite is the case. "Stuck in the echo chamber of his own mind" seems a more accurate summation of your own state of being AL than Fisk's. When did you last speak to leaders of the Iraqi insurgency in person?

Fisk should be taken out back and shot for visiting "insurgent leaders". What side is he on again? Sounds like a spy to me. Probably gave them inside information on how to fool gullible leftists into supporting them. He himself is a gullible lefty, after all.

Or maybe he just makes up his stories of meeting "insurgents". Would these be Al Qaeda terrorists? Ba'athists? Sunni tribesmen intent on turning Iraq into a theocracy? Does he have photos of them with their ID cards?

Aside from that, you're again trying to twist an observation into something you can get huffy about. Tiring Ackers, very tiring.

Ackers1, you reminf me of the little Aboriginal boy sitting outside the Katanning pub about forty years ago when the Catholic Preist came along. "Are you a Catholic?" asked the priest. "No Father, it's hard enough bein'black.'

It must be bloody tough being a leftie these days. What with the Great Satan Howard having been shown to be the saviour of Australians from your mates in Al Qaeda; the Iraqi leadership now confidently talking about the likelihood of Allied troops being able to withdraw next year; the Dopey Dems being exposed for the blatant liars they have been about Iraq and WMD; your own even Dopier Dems accusing Howard of setting up the Al Qaeda cell in Australia; the imminent exposure of the anti administration chicanery carried out by the Dopey Dems in the CIA and shock of shocks and horror of horrors, Helen Clark described in a major Australian daily newspaper, along with Blair,Mitterand and Co as a 'lame duck leader.'

I would have thought you might have learnt to keep you head down for a day or two. You know, meditate a little.

Helen Clark as a lame duck.
I like the sound of that. Wonder when the NZ media will pick up on this insightful observation.
Anyway, is it her lame duck leadership that has created a government that is totally quackers!!!

He was a bit harsh on poor Angela Merkel though. The poor lass has only got elected.

AL, that's an interesting insight into how you think the media shoud be reporting this conflict. Clearly you are only interested in hearing one side and my suggestion that the echo chamber comment is more applicable to you holds true.

You have quite a novel interpretation of press freedom.

No wonder you are unable to distinguish fact from fiction if the only validity you see in reporting is that which is done from 'our' side.

You gotta love how freedom of speech or the freedom of the press gets stretched and twisted to allow pretty much anything the press (and their dogmatic liberal supporters) wants it to.

And Ackers1, whats the practical difference between living in an echo chamber and hearing both sides of the argument but automatically rejecting one side? When WAS the last time you agreed with ANYTHING a non-lefty said?

Ackers I think the fact we bother arguing with you (and indeed our modus operandi could be described as direct disagreement with opposition blogs) shows we don't live in an echo chamber. Of any kind.

But Fisk does.

When will the Brits arrest him for treason?

AL is spot on and it is these democratic freedoms that WE are trying to preserve.
There lefties will let it be taken away by the Islamofascists.
The anti-war left would have more credibility if they spoke out for gay and women's rights in the Middle East, but they are silent.
Such hypocrates.
But we see it at home with Josie Bullock and the Department of Coirrections. The lefties back archaic Maori tradition before Women's rights.
Such humbug, such hypocracy, and where the 'war against terror' is concerned, such treason!

As for Fisk, perhaps he is waiting for the Caliphate to invent email. But the Caliphate hasn't invented anything since mathematics and numbers many, many centuries ago.
