SFO Cops Flak

When you are responsible for recommending large loans to lenders you try very hard to avoid conmen and fraudsters. One might think this is easy to do but if fact it is not. That is why high profile business people and lending institutions keep getting caught. These people are bloody clever and very plausible. They are much more plausible than ackers1 or Russell Brown.

So, it is my habit to look over the list of guilty bastards and others whose names may be seen listed on the SFO website.and I note of late there seems to be an increase in the proportion of cases brought to the courts by the SFO which to not result in a conviction. I note also the absence of any Labour politicians' names in the rogues' gallery. Perhaps this might be one reason why they are struggling to get convictions - they are targetting the wrong villains.

Interesting to note also the tone of the website commentary has changed. A few years ago the charges were listed in pretty mush asceptic legal style. They have imported a Hollywood script writer. I see today one fellow cited for soliciting 'vast amounts of money' which later were described as 'having been seen no more.' Well, that bloke was aquitted!

Yesterday's jury decision in the Childflight case should be the cause of serious concern among the SFO's top echelon and should be the precursor of a thorough review of what they are doing and how they are doing it. It seems remarkable to me that only 'small fry' ever seem to receive any real attention from this outfit when there are rumours and reports of massive taxation swindles going on in banking and investment circles, some aided and abetted by our very own Minister of Finance.

It is farcical that the Childflight case ever ended up in court. There are aquittals and then there are charges that are so manifestly unjust that a jury of strangers ends up hugging the accused. I hope they take things further than just asking for costs. This is just the kind of case Rodney Hide should pick up like he did with the unhelpful culture at the IRD.

The IRD frequently use the SFO as a conduit to get information that by law they cannot.

The SFO are a very powerful, wide ranging organisation run by a bunch of legal wannabe sycophantic arsewipes. The judiciary frequently now seem to be throwing out cases brought by the SFO. Little comfort to the innocent victims who are fiscally wiped out having to defend ridiculous charges.

The IRD can do damage, but the SFO are equally if not more dangerous. They instantaneously deal with criminality, not civil penalty.

Nasty bastards.
