The Maori With The Mouth

Labour new boy Shane Jones has been touted as Labour's treasure and a future prime minister. Perhaps it's him to whom Paul Swain was referring when he remarked upon the 'depth of talent' in the Labour line up.

Well, on 0800 Radio Left wing news this morning Mr Jones displayed his credentials and with an attempt at Tamiherian oratory skills. I heard the tail end of his remarks in which he opined that "Gerry wanted all Maori 'out by lunch time.' " Hard on the heels of his pre-election commentary there seems little doubt the ego exceeds the intellect.

Tamihere was much more subtle and statesmanlike. The only similarity between the two is that both are on record as double dippers.
