Jones agrees to stand down

You see, I was right. It happened after a 'chat with Helen Clark'.

It seems lotsa things happen after chats with her almighty. Ask Oskar Alley and Peter Doone.

Oh, how cute - "this could take six months to a year, although it could happen earlier." Or, put differently, between $35-70K of director's fees if he doesn't get a cabinet post.

Oddly enough, Jones' fellow list newbies Maryann Street and Darien Fenton promptly resigned their government appointments two weeks back. I suspect the only real difference is that Street and Fenton have some political milage under their belts.
