Iraq Constitution Referendum

So far so good. Voting has finished and counting is underway. According to the Associated Press, initial estimates of turnout are ~61%.

Iraq The Model has a more detailed list of turnout per province, and also a Windows Media video (~817kb) of Iraqi's celebrating in Mosul.

The Iraqis voted? Why haven't I heard about this in the media? Doesn't everyone know it's one gigantic quagmire there??

Anyway, I don't complain. The more the media gets out of touch with reality, the better it is for my income. This referendum has made me a few hundred dollars at TradeSports, the more people are badly informed, the better it is.

The biggest story is how high the turnout was in majority Sunni provinces, but we'll have to wait a couple of days before the exact results are ignored by our "news" outlets and I will again be forced to link to Iraq The Model.

Yes AL, we all know one cannot force democracy on Iraq and it is disgusting how Bush forced the iraqi's at gunpoint to vote for his referendum. The only hope we have is that it will be rejected.
