Attacked from The left Flank

The headline screamed

US using starvation as a weapon in Iraq: UN official

I suppose you have to expect something as stupid as this when you put together Australia's ABC, Reuters, a sociolgy professor and the UN. Yes, the same UN which supervised the murder of 5,000 men and boys at Schrebrenicia.(sp?)

Mr Ziegler said he understood the military rationale of the coalition forces who were "facing such a horrible enemy - these insurgents who do not respect any law of war and who use the civilian population of cities like Fallujah or Tal Afar as human shields, who keep them as hostages".

But he said their actions were nevertheless a "flagrant violation of international humanitarian law".
He complained plaintively that he had been unable to 'open dialogue with the Americans.' Perhaps the good professor could report on the manner of starvation endured by Iraqis before the Yanks and the Brits and the Aussies arrived on the scene. How many children died each year? They used to delight in telling us until it became obvious that the real cause of the horror was not the Americans but Saddam and his Sunni henchmen, the very same ones being winkled out of Fallujah or Tal Afar.

Thought you might find the ABC a bit of a challenge Adolf. You should spend a bit of time on their website - try just 1 small section of it, Radio National.

The depth and quality of the information available in transcripts and podcasts is extraordinary.

Then go have a look at the Radio NZ website.

You will see what a difference it makes to have a reasonably well funded public broadcaster.

ackers1 The ABC was infested with lefties in the 1970s and it has not improved since. the current affairs programme programme '4 Corners' in particular was notorious. However, they do a magical job with good quality music programmes, ABC radio especially. Of course it's very difficult to fund decent radio and TV when you've already given the money away to layabouts and businesses about to go bust.
