Peter Rimar: Photos of the New Iraqi Army

Two days ago, one Peter Rimar accidentally came across Sir Humphrey's and left a confusing comment. It turns out Mr Rimar is actually a photographer who's travelled to some very interesting places, including, he tells me, both sides of the DMZ in Korea.

Peter has kindly given Sir Humphrey's permission to republish any photos he's already added to his blog (his full copyright statement is here).

Since Peter doesn't have comments enabled on his blog, I guess you can leave pleasant words here (he's promised to keep checking back) or contact him via the email address on his Blogger account.

The following photos are of soldiers in the new Iraqi Army. Peter's source page is here.

At evening formation. Things that I noticed: wraparound sunnies, fairly well equipped with older vests and kevlar helmets.

An 18 year old looking very serious for his age

Peter calls this one "Charlies Angels"

I bet both these guys have some interesting histories behind their expressions.

Great pics. Black and White certainly has a good effect on their character.
