Labour hits back: One News publishes another leaked National memo

Seems to me like Brash largely ignored the contents of this memo:
A year ago Sinclair told Brash: "Election winning behaviour requires you to slosh those funds around and buy your way to the Treasury benches."

Brash was advised to "open up the cheque book as excruciating as this will feel" because many voters are "self-interested and will vote according to what they can get out of you".
Unless of course you're a socialist and think giving us our own money back counts as 'opening up the wallet'.

One News also got a quote from Clark:
Helen Clark said it was "very nasty right-wing politics designed to turn kiwis against each other and buy an election."
No-one else is referenced in the TVNZ item. Ho hum. Just another day at the dirty politics office for TVNZ and the Labour Party.

You beat me to this Al. Let's deconstruct this:

"Election winning behaviour requires you to slosh those funds around and buy your way to the Treasury benches."

Like the Labour party has done.

"Brash was advised to "open up the cheque book as excruciating as this will feel" because many voters are "self-interested and will vote according to what they can get out of you".

'Excruciating' goes to show his fiscal prudence. A large slap in the face for Clark et al. Many voters wil vote for Labour for their Welfare for Families package too; or students paying no interest etc.

"One News also got a quote from the source of their memo:
Helen Clark said it was "very nasty right-wing politics designed to turn kiwis against each other and buy an election."

Aye? What the hell is she on about?

a) What does the Privacy Act say about publishing someone's private emails?

b) IMO Clark is not convincing anyone who has not already made up their minds, rather she is reinforcing those viewpoints

c) Clark, Cullen, Goff are showing the whole country just exactly who they are. It ain't pretty, and even if they win, they've already lost.

Well, we do eat babies for breakfast. There will be a kerbside collection on Thursdays.

I am appalled by Labour's efforts thus far, and is it just me or does Cullen sound drunk these days?

Leaks, schmeaks, who cares? If some one actually believes that they are doing damage to the the folk who reside below used car sales men in the public eye by releasing email, then those folk are seriously deluded.

In fact it is possible that this publicity works in National's favour, it shows the party is important enough to have wise folk tender candid advice to them.

I bet Jim's outfit, United Future, the Greens and NZ First have empty inboxes.

Ah, who cares.

I am getting sick to death of this stuff from Labour. TVNZ seem to be bias, why else would they receive this material, the people that leaked new it would get a good run. No mention of the PSA-Labour activity naturally.

All this is increasing my determination to see Labour ousted. As therapy I organised four National billboards to be placed on our property, which is seen by 50,000 vehicles a day.

Tomorrow, I hope to be visited by the hapless Labour candidate who is alledegly canvassing in the area. I imagine we will have a short discussion. More therapy.

For those who are interested Leighton Smith on NewstalkZB will be hosted a debate between Cullen and Key tomorrow (Tues) 10-11am.

Apparently he's been inundated with emails requested that he keeps Cullen under control and gives Key a fair go. Cullen loses every time, and has to resort to shouting over Key.

Another leaked email. Has Labour been polling badly recently or something? ;)

The "Big Bad Business Round Table" email got no traction and this one is a joke in comparison. The stunning revelation that some people vote with their pockets and to be sucessful you need to slosh some money around. Oh noes! What will they teach in Politics 101 now that the secret is out? If, as DPF suggested, Labour is looking for a circuit breaker, they better start looking harder.

Mr Obsequious himself ditifully trotted out this e-mail nonsense in his interview with John Key. These guys don't seem to have got the message.

I'm getting bloody sick and tired of TVNZ every night running an anti National story . What their pathetic and sycophantic commentators fail to differentiate is this: Letting people KEEP more of their own money is not buying your way to the treasury benches. Taxing everybody hard, then redistributing it to selective groups IS.

Whne the hell is TVNZ even going to mention the taxpayer resources the PSA used for "Labour Letter Factory" and the hospital pamphlets there were told to pull?

What no story there?
