I don't normally post twice in a day, but I've just had two callers to my 95bFM show - one a workmate, the other an estranged family member - emphatically inform me that members of the Exclusive Brethren have been putting up National Party billboards in Auckland. And not just one or two billboards either. Two bowel movements in one day!! Go back and read it again, folks. The only fact in this nasty little pile of garbage is that two of Brown's aquaintances reported seeing some people putting up Gnat bill boards. Did they have 'Exclusive Brethren' tatooed on their foreheads?
Given the nature of the organisation, it's inconceivable that they'd be doing so without instruction from the church leadership.
Certainly everyone has the right to join a political campaign - even the leaders of abusive religious cults. And it's perfectly possible that National doesn't know who its little helpers are. But this would seem to rather give lie to this morning's protestations that there is no connection between the Exclusive Brethren and the National Party's election campaign. I thought this was newsworthy.

I have just made the comment over at Sir David's that H is definitely a Al Quaeda supporter. The reasons are as follow
Goff and Arrafat was very close
H was seen at a Mosque last weekend. She tried to keep the meeting a secret as she was in disguise (kept her face covered) She also refuse to say what was discussed and that is very telling.
Clearly they were discussing Al Qaeda strategy for holding Qaim in western Iraq.
Geez, this is so vacuous. So someone who may or may not now, or in the past, have been an EB, was seen putting up a National billboard.
So what.
It's likely some current or former communists have put up Labour party billboards.
That wouldn't be newsworthy, and neither is this.
I know anything to do with Christians will send Russell mental, but why on Earth are Labour hacks like Jordan and Russ getting so worked up over this? Are they really that worried Labour is on the way out?
Maybe remembering the collapse of communism in Poland due to the Catholic Church and Solidarity has them all freaked out. Not that it's hit the news here, the 25 year anniversary of the start of Solidarity.
What if all the Christians in NZ banded together? What if this is just the start? We don't want those sorts of goings on here, Christians taking down completely respectable governments. They should fade back into irrelevance where we've put them....
That's not a quote, btw, just some vibes I'm picking up.
Did RB actually say "even the leaders of abusive religious cults" ??
Sounds like he's losing it. Anyway, what happened to the "if we seek to understand them..."
TV3 News and John Campbell were all over this Exclusive Brethren thing tonight.
John Campbell had a real sneering tone.
Since when has it been wrong for New Zealand Citizens to participate in Democracy?
I guess when you are a member of a church with a nationwide membership of less than 2000.
I'm Russian Orthodox I wonder if we are ruled out to.
No problem here. EB members are as entitled to help National as union members are to help Labour. Wouldn't it be nice if each side accepted such banalities.
Guess what. Ive just seen some people put some billboards up as well. A friend of a friend of an estranged family member that has really long hair and a scarf on her head has put up a bill board just down the road from my house.
Furthermore the person looks like she goes to the exclusive Brethren church in my electorate of Ohariau-Belmont.
How do I kow this? It was a National Billboard that this particular person was putting up.
I just thought this was newsworthy...
That's incredible Dave. I didn't think that sort of thing went on in NZ.
