$40k Theft Gets 3 Day Police Response
Check it out on Checkpoint when the feed is up. About 1740 today. The interviewer did not seem to take any notice. Didn't even question it. She was more interested in the fact that someone pinched some high fashion garments.
An Auckland fashion designer had her prototype garments for the October release stolen. She called the police who 'were very busy and didn't get here for three days' and while she was waiting for them to come the villains came back and TOOK SOME MORE.
This is what Doonegate is all about. Clark maliciously lied to fabricate the incident which she then fed to a gullible Sunday Star Times, knowing the headline would give her the excuse to replace Doone with the stooge who has made sure that the cops are so busy issuing traffic tickets that thay take three days to respond to a major heist.
Thank you very much for your great policing, thank you very very very much.

But Adolf, crime is down ;)
Seriously though, what are the police doing that is more important than preventing crime? I hope they aren't out filling their ticket quotas.
Crime is not down.
Reported Crime is down, even government ministers don't report it when they're assaulted.
How long would it take for them to respond to a burglary at Labour HQ?
