Young Labourites need to stop reading and start learning

The Business Roundtable and ACT are set on making New Zealand a low-wage economy. The Australian coalition have highlighted the 'victory' in New Zealand of lowering wages in their quest for neo-liberal reform.

Don Brash is part of that movement, and they are using the National party like a puppet. Anyone who wants wage growth should vote against National and ACT by giving their party vote to Labour.
This is what Labourite Greg Stephens said today on Jordan's blog. Okay Greg, what will Welfare for Families do for wages?

It stops people working hard and taking wage increases, that's what.

Under WFF someone who earns 65,000 with 2 kids 'gets' $64 per week next April. From April 1 2007 the worker gets $84 per week. What would happen if that worker got a $5,000 pay increase at the same time? The worker would turn it down because it isn't as much money in his families pocket as WFF.

So what does Welfare for Families do? It keeps wages low. Do you understand that simple example Greg?

UPDATE by AL: Earlier post on Labour's proposed high marginal tax rates.

Gooner, Greg Stephens seems more and more to the left each time he speaks. He now can only comment in rhetoric. I am not sure who has been tutoring him, but we can be glad it wasn't the Al Qaeda conversion school.

We'd likely have a virtual suicide on our hands. A blog bomb. Messy.

Note the conversation in Jordan's experimental thread:

1. Jordan makes dramatic post as the molehill gets turned into a mountain.

2. Greg Stephens announces conspiracy theory fitting of a closet communist.

3. Paul comes in and throws a few personal quips accusing IP of having a "hard-on" for Brash, and "pleasant wet dreams" mixed in with whatever vague point he attempts to make.

Stir it up a little, wait to people react to that kind of banter and then Jordan can leap in with a little speech of how the right get all rude and testy when poked in the eye with a blunt wit.

Welcome to Jordan's world.

"Paul" who comments on Just Left seemingly 24/7 is a waste of space. He is unprepared to even turn a blind eye to anything Labour have done. The Faculty of Political Studies at Otago Uni have messed with his mind big time.

Maybe we will have to refer to him as "Left Paul" just to keep it clear it isn't the (sensible) Paul who drops in at SH on a fairly regular basis!
