Loaded Questions

Jordan Carter loves to ask loaded questions, of the supposedly rhetorical variety. It probably goes with the job. Here's his latest. After he outlines this election is all about Margaret Thatcher (that would be Don Brash for the slow of mind):
Is New Zealand about all of us together on these islands? Working together in peace and hope?

Or is it all about the me and now, the bottom line, the fast buck, the eyes cast down in fear?
Wow. Did you hear the National anthem play, with Helen Clark's face in front of our flag, as the opening line rolled? Did you see the fade out to the National Party and Enron and a Court Hearing of a man in a suit? Brash possibly? Lets rephrase that question shall we?
Is New Zealand about a belief in the community? That people, given more freedom, will use it wisely and with the generosity of spirit that we Kiwis are known for?

Or do we succumb to the Nanny State knows best, and hand over all our wealth, and hope that what is returned to us is not only fair and equitable, but not squandered by the inherent wastefulness of a large bureaucracy, inefficient because of competing interests rather than the clear vision and purpose driving families, businesses and communities in our great country?
You can go have a nice cup of tea now. We are safe. For the moment.

Why do we have Creative NZ?
So the Nanny State can inform us (the proletariat)of our culture & indeed what art is. How did we ever cope in the past?

What a load of barf.

Tell us about Labours perversion of the crime stats and the incompetence of the NCEA Jordan. Tell us about the people dying while stuck on a health waiting list.

A fisking?

That was simply a re-framing. As I said on my site, it was quite a good one. Well done ZT. I am flattered you thought it was important enough to warrant a whole new post on your own site.

al - tell me about the history of National, which designed and began the NCEA, and caused the waiting lists in the first place. Try taking some responsibility.

You may have noticed National was voted out of power in 1999, and since then many of its leading lights have either left or been demoted.

In fact I voted against National in 1999 (actually more a protest vote, but there you go). I'd had enough of their shennanigans.

Fair cop, National are dumb for designing the NCEA. What does that make Labour for actually implementing it, poorly at that?
