Kerfuffle largely missed

There was a little kerfuffle, and I missed most of the action. Apparently blog stats are a sensitive area, any discussion of which suddenly sharpens the commenting desire of previously quiet people. As far as I'm concerned stats are just another area to be open about. Aaron and DPF seem to agree, as they both have obvious hit counters. In fact the SH Sitemeter is open for anyone to view, if you're curious. You can even see referrals and the like.

I also have a testable theory, supported by the experience of bloggers in the USA. If there's a strong and under-represented rightwing opinion 'market' here in NZ, then the rightwing blogs should do much better in terms of popularity. Unfortunately the leftwing blogs aren't particularly open about these things, so its hard to test the theory.
