Greens on tax

I'm not even in NZ, haven't directly heard the tax policies, but I could have written this Green Party whine about National's tax policy without even reading said policy. Oh, that's what they appear to have done anyway.
The Green Party says National’s policy to cut income tax for middle- and upper-income earners will fall flat because voters will see it for what it is - a massive election bribe.
There you go, if the Greens don't like it, it must be a bribe. With your own money. At least they have indicated their position. Taxes can never be decreased because that will always give the average tax-payer more than the poor, since the average joker pays more to start with. The only way is up baby, for Green taxes.
“At least Labour’s new tax relief policy is targeted towards families in need, whereas National’s vote grab lacks any subtlety whatsoever,” Co-Leader Rod Donald says.
Now see, taking less money is a bribe but taking your money and giving it to someone else is not a bribe but tax relief (a relief they are still collecting it I assume). I am still amazed that the Greens can claim with a straight face that they are interested in equality or justice. Their name suits their mood, green is as Green does.

“I believe Brash’s bid for the Primeministership will backfire because voters don’t trust him not to sell off our heritage or mortgage our future to pay for his imprudent tax policy.
See, Brash is selling the past AND the future! Whereas Green taxes are actually buying the past and the future.
“Most New Zealanders would rather pay a reasonable level of tax in return for good quality health, education and other services. They certainly don’t want to pay more to go to the doctor because the Government has cut back public services to pay for tax cuts.
Most NZers would, no doubt. Now be so good, Mr Donald, as to define a "reasonable level of tax" and "good quality of services". Because from where I'm standing the services rendered for the amount of money taken are pretty, well, crap.
“The Green Party remains committed to pushing Labour to extend its Working for Families package to embrace the children of beneficiary families. And we will continue to promote our own policy of shifting tax off work and enterprise and on to waste and pollution by giving everyone a $15-a-week tax cut and paying for it with a suite of eco-taxes.”
Typo, he meant the Green party should be committed. Now he has pulled the usual stunt of "think about the children", an automatic red card in my book. Curiously, the Greens want to move tax off "work and enterprise"... yet they are desperately against a tax scheme that begins to do that. Somehow a $15 a week tax cut is going to do this, coupled with "a suite" of eco-taxes. Of course the eco-taxes will be highly regressive since the rich will still be able to afford whatever is eco-taxed, by definition of being rich. Good old reactionary Greens, allowing the rich to continue with their immoral polluting playthings while those things get ever more out of reach of the beneficiaries kids.
