Disaster in New Orleans

Looks as bad as the worst predictions.

More at local TV station WWLTV.

The Instapundit has a good list of organisations accepting donations, if you're so inclined.

Believe it or not--A major U.S. city has been almost destroyed and the NZ Herald online has NOTHING, not a mention, not one tiny peep about it.
I can't make up my mind whether it's amusing or disgusting.

Bloody hell. I've driven under that expressway and it must be 30 foot high. And you wouldn't say New Orleans is hilly. This is major, major damage.

Damage estimated at $US25 billion across affected counties. And thats before the expected rise in floodwaters this evening, now that the levees are failing.

That's just incredible. The Dominion Post had the disaster both as front page news and front page on the world section.

The Herald online isn't representative of the paper Herald. Different editors, more recent content tends to bump older content unless they create a special feature panel.
