No July election

Dammit, guess I've lost the bet. But then who could have predicted Cullen would create such a disastrous budget.

It never was July. The game is to draw out National. Let them spend their money, get out their policies and then have enough time to attack them. But National isn't playing.

Well Berend makes a comment that could be seen to draw a parralel with reality. Wonders will never cease.

Only Rodney Hide and a couple of National's senior campaign team seriously thought it was going to be a July Election.

Helen Clark said time and again she wanted to go "full term". Why you guys thoughtt his was July is anyones guess.

And Cullen's budget is not an election winner; but it is not a disaster. I can't believe that you believe 30.3% of GDP is Government spending is evil and socialist; and 28% is free market and pure.

Stephen, two things: it's the direction that counts, so 30.3% down to 28% and going down is good.

Second, I think most people would find a spending of 10% something they wouldn't worry about anymore.

Even the Destiny Church stops at just 10%.

Thank heavens I wasn't taking money on it. I had the Sept. dates at about 18-1 at one stage. If it's August 20 I'll be fine.

I'll say it again: sooner rather than later. Later = more unknowns = riskier. Imagine if they had it before the budget!
