Anal Plaque

Have you seen the latest toothpaste ads? The ones with the homilies about plaque and tarter? Why, they now would even have us all tongue brushing.

Try and imagine how the ad agencies would have pitched their spiels if our teeth were located at the other end of the alimentary canal. They'd be pushing double jointed tooth brushes. (Thirty years ago there was just a hint with the famous Colgate 'ring of confidence' slogan) The agencies had better start planning, because Mat McCarten will buy their product.

Let's face it, apart from the tax cut debate, name any real difference on the key issues between Labour and National.

I had thought Mr McCarten was an astute observer but he seems to have missed certain red and blue roadside billboards. Perhaps he is a Lions supporter. That might explain it.

Hmmm, and in a beat-up in today's SST Finlay MacDonald has this to say about National's tax cuts:

"Faced with a resurgent National promising tax cuts - sorry, tax relief (which sounds a bit like something they'd offer for 25 bucks on K Rd or Vivian St) - Labour appears ... "

I don't quite know why I continue to waste $2 every Sunday morning. I'm not sure about others, but I actually find it offensive to pay to read some art-less hack compare the next Government's (yet to be announced) tax policy to seedy goings on in the dark alleys of K Rd.

Adolf: not really the sort of mental image I wanted placed in my mind thanks.

Paul: rather pointless, but why don't you send what you just said about FMcD to Pravda? You never know, if they get enough in the way of complaints...
