Adolf Has Glue Ear

Update 0950. I got it wrong. Apologies to Dover Samuels. It was Dr Ranginui Walker being interviewed - and not by Derek Fox. It's taken until now to get a chance to hear the interview in full.

I awoke this morning part way through a remarkable interviewby one of new Zealand's best and most under-rated jounalists. As soon as I am able, I will listen to it again on Berend's 'thingy.'

Walker was predicting defeat for Labour at the forthcoming election.

Among other things I thought I heard were:

Labour can't possibly get back
NCEA, Abu-Dope, 111 etc have inflicted mortal damage
Foreskins and Seaweed was a huge tactical blunder and allowed the Maori Party to form.
Maori Party is founded on solid principle.
Maori Party will be around for a long time
Act is finished
Helen Clark blundered by recruiting John Tamihere

Fascinating and remarkable confirmation of my long held opinion that when it comes do dealing with Maoridom, Clark is clueless and inept.

Ha. Clark will certainly be 'remembered' in the history books, but not as she wanted, I bet.

So Labour are pissing in the wind then? Coming from Dover that has the hallmark of credibility.

Bugger, I'm out of Walker puns. I used to have miles of them.

Too kind, AF - the PM mishandles just about everything, not just Maori.

After the election (if they win) the caucus will be thinking of how to lever her out to her cherished UN post so they can start rebuilding the bridges she has burnt.
