Not the Latest Tamihere Update

To take your minds of Tommy Hairix, Dominatrix and the Smarmy Army, here’s a bit of trivia.

It has been suggested that, at the age of 58, I might be the oldest blogger in the land. A fossilized keyboard flogger, no less. Good God, I asked, does that mean I have to accept an award from Russell Brown? Well possibly.

So come on chaps and chappesses. Do we have any more bids or is this line of goods knocked down for a lousy fifty-eight bucks?

It so happens this week my first wife will celebrate her thirty-third wedding anniversary to her first husband. Me. I got into a hell of a lot of trouble when we had been married for only a few months. I was a member of Perth Jaycees and the chapter celebrated its 25th jubilee in 1972 or 1973 from memory. (You’ve got to make allowances for us old buggers.) It was the first ever chapter of Jaycees in Australia and a number of founding members were present that evening, including the state premiere and three or four other knights of the realm along with numerous business captains of the day.

There we all were, looking like emperor penguins in our tuxes at the flashest hotel in town and all the current members had to stand up and introduce their respective guests. It was not one of my smarter moments and to this day I don’t know why I did it (Sound a bit like Tommy Hairix?) but when my turn came I leapt to my feet and said “Mr President, The Honourable the Premiere Sir Charles Court, Your Worship the Mayor, ladies and gentlemen, my name is ……… ……….. and on my right is my guest for the evening, my first wife .............. “

There was a bit of a silence and it lasted for three days.

58 Adolf! You don't sound a day over 30.
Have you ever seen any age stats regarding blogging?

Hee, hee. I am younger than you, just in case anybody's wondering. But I'm not giving away my real age. Let's just say I'm not yet 40.

I have read your comments on several blogs and I never would have guessed that age. I don't know if that is good or not.

Its easy to get age wrong when its guessed from blog comments. But gender is more obvious.

Age is meaningless really.... ;-)

I have access to very high-speed internet during the day (faster than Jetstream), which helps alot in posting speeds. You can't blog over a phoneline.
