McCully reveals Health rort

Yet another Labour scandal is emerging - how long before this one hits the media.

McCully reports:
Last Friday morning the Office of the Auditor-General contacted the worldwide headquarters of mccully.co. Having considered the request from the humble Member for East Coast Bays, the Auditor-General had decided to launch an investigation into allegations of cronyism, as 24 contracts, worth a cool $1,177,766 were awarded to two former Health Ministry officials. All but three of those contracts were untendered. And Parliament had been forced to wait for seven months, rather than the stipulated six days, for the answer to a written question filed on 19 August last year. The Auditor-General’s office also rang the Ministry of Health to inform them of the investigation.

I've long thought the media silence on our abysmal health system was rather suspicious. I wonder what other horror stories are just waiting to be discovered. Still we haven't approached Canada in terms of killing those the public health system is meant to be helping - remember the SARS outbreak spread by slack procedures at Canadian public hospitals?

And Michael Moore is making a movie about how much better the Canadian health system is...bet it won't include SARS. Funnily enough, he only recently discovered that the Canadian health system was government funded, in 1989 he was living in DC publishing a political newsletter and directed "Canadian Bacon", released in 1995, concerning Canada and politics and filmed in five Canadian locations.
