The future of blogging

Wondering about the future of blogging? The future of the print media? Here is an interesting 8 minute video on the history of the Google / Amazon merger to create GoogleZon, their battle with Microsoft and the landmark court case against the New York Times.

When did all this happen? Well, over the next few years actually.

For your viewing pleasure, I give you:
EPIC 2014

After you've had a gander, maybe we can have a chat about the future of the news media. I don't think it will play out the way described in the video clip above, but I think the blogosphere is having an impact on the dissemination of information, and helping generate a lot more critical analysis that was previously the domain of the morning tea breaks.

I don't think we'll see the real changes until ultra-fast wireless broadband is common, and digital video cameras cost about $NZ300ea.

Then we'll see some major stuctural changes to the media industries.
