Americans to blame for everything in Iraq, even the actions of 'rebels'

This really gets my goat. TVNZ bothered to republish at item from AAP about an old tower in Samarra being destroyed by the 'rebels' (just like in Star Wars):
Iraqi rebels on Friday blew up the top of a towering centuries-old spiral minaret in the Iraqi city of Samarra, damaging one of the country's prized national treasures.

The top tier of the 52-metre Malwiya tower was blown off in the attack, said police Lieutenant Colonel Mahmoud Mohammed.
Those brave rebels, fighting for peace and the welfare of the Iraqi people. But how did TVNZ end the piece?
Many of Iraq's archaeology sites have been plundered by thieves or damaged by US-led military operations since the US invasion two years ago.
So after writing an entire article about Iraqi insurgents trying to intentionally destroy an important piece of Iraqi heritage, a mindless TVNZ employee managed to twist it around and blame the Americans. Good one.
