Dimming Down not Warming Up

Well, now that Global Warming is buggered, the pseudo scientifc community (and it includes AUSTRALIAN researchers so Jees mate it must be right - see ABC News Online) brings you the latest wacko theory dressed up as fact. Yes sir, step right up and for just one dollar and a vote for Kyoto you now can have GLOOOBAL DIIIIIMING. Global Dimming is the little brother of Global Warming who was recently diagnosed with terminal loopynaemia. This new idea has all the gasoline burnt by George Bush and his mates killing off the world. You see, the ultra fine ash particles spewed out by all these Republican, Liberal and National Party bad guys have started to hang around somewhere between here and Heaven and of course they are reflecting the sun's rays away from the earth!! Yeah!! Can you believe this crap? These silly buggers want you to believe that we have clothed the earth in thermal underwear. The sad thing is, nowhere in their scientific little minds does there seem room for the fact that the sun actually has not been shining as brightly (hotly) during the last fifty years as it did for the previous fifty. Augie Auer calls it sunspot activity.

Tragically for the Doom is Nigh family their newborn Dimmy will contract the same fatal illness which afflicts their first born Warmy. The desease is caused by parental inattention to genuine scientific data which fails to support their latest pet theory.

These blokes should have been economists.

The problem is the 'environmental movement' has been taken over by groups with other agendas, such as the communists. In the bad old days of mining, the green groups did push for positive change. But this could have been done through local and regional body politics... instead they created self-sustaining groups which need to create issues for themselves to focus on, rather than being created for the issue.

This isn't due to variations in solar output; insolation at the top of the atmosphere has not changed by more than a fraction of the observed effect.
